  1. It's good to know that there's finally something hard in this game. Also, you should really change the title of this blog and it's entries so it's google friendly. (e.g. My Dawnguard Experiences for a blog title and Vampire Lord Bonuses for this entry) That way people will find it easily.
  2. What quest is this objective for? The Moth Priest is an essential NPC, and your spouse has their own Dawnguard vampire quest so they're probably immune prior to that.
  3. If you're talking about the Main quest, here's an excerpt from the wiki with puzzle answers: And here are some fixes if the consoles don't turn or rotate...
  4. Hey, welcome to the site! Feel free to let me know if you ever have any suggestions or anything.

  5. The file is called "Skyrim", and it should be right next to the "Skyrim Update" file you deleted. If it's not there, I really don't know what to tell you. It has to be assuming you've played the game/installed the files.

    Dust 514

Had never heard of it, but it does look interesting.I'll never believe that there's not going to be significant costs involved to do something basic.
  7. That's odd. So you ONLY deleted the update, and the update was what stopped installing, and not the actual game data? Remember that you need to delete both the Update AND Game Data from the Game Data Utility folder, not just the update file.
  8. That's an interesting fix, thanks for posting it. I'm sure it will help others.
  9. Just realized Blexun's troll.gif in the water freezing thread has twice as many likes as the post that unfroze 22,000 Skyrim players.

  10. You can check to see if he's still following you by trying to get a different follower. It will either say that Faendal will return home now or won't allows you to take a new companion because "you already have a follower."Faendal's house is in Riverwood. If it's been 3 or so days, you can check there and see if he's returned. There's also a large section on his daily schedule on his wiki page.Generally if NPC's die you'll be able to find them in the Hall's of the Dead in their home cities. Since Riverwood isn't a city and doesn't have one, you might be able to check Whiterun's to see if he's deceased. I'm not positive that minor towns send the "remains" to the nearest city, though.Note that sometimes followers are known to disappear permanently from the game. If this is the case you'll either have to move on or reload a previous save before he disappeared. Faendal isn't a great follower anyway imo.
  11. If you have the Skeleton key you can go for Master locks. There's really no "good" way to level lockpicking. It's also covered in the guide, along with the other skills.
  12. I covered this in my guide The Fastest Ways to Level in Skyrim.
  13. Yeah, Age of Empires 2 has to be one of my favorite games of all time. I could even play it today and have fun.
  14. Ah, thank you. Every donation for hosting is appreciated as I cover the costs of the software myself. That runs $300 one-time + $210 every following year to keep everything up to date. Not much fun for a poor college student.

If they're worried about it just tell them to use a different password (or username as well) on the forum.

    100th SKYRIM GALLERY IMAGE!

This is like the 10th overall Skyrim comic on Google, and our highest rated one. I have no idea why. Their new rankings must be heavily influenced by new material.
  17. Happens to me too occasionally. I think we just have to live with it.I always can tell because the fog either stops moving or never appears. Everything else still works (render still moves, etc.).
  18. Monks are hands down the best profit/exp for your level. Since I've reached 99, lobsters/sharks/rocktails have all fallen 40-50% in price. Monks are roughly the same price they used to be, and they were the best back then too.Gratz Cons.

  20. Welcome to the site! :smile:Let me see if I remember this quest correctly..First, you follow Paratus into the Armillary chamber, place the crystal, and then cast Flames/Frostbite on blue circles on the floor (or the crystals directly) until each beam of light above is focused on the center. You then press the buttons until the light beams line up with the mirrors. After you solve the puzzle, you just talk to Paratus.I don't remember even placing the crystal after talking to Paratus. Maybe it was used when you activate the Armillary, but I'm not positive. Do none of the other controls work, either?
  21. Weird. Did this just start when you got Dawnguard? Maybe there's a bug with that. If that's the case, it's relatively new and wouldn't have any known fixes at this point. You may be waiting for the next patch, unfortunately. I'll post here again if I hear of anything that may solve it in the meantime.
  22. I'm going to research it a little bit and see if I can find anything that's not something like "reinstall the game." In the meantime I'm flagging this for Blexun.
  23. Yes, but you're not answering the question (or perhaps I'm misunderstanding). So you only have the dialogue issues on the ONE character file and the new characters created after it are fine, correct? Also, when you say "there is no dialogue" - do characters not have any voices at all? Do your text options come up when you're supposed to respond? I'm sorry if it seems like I'm asking a ton of questions, but these things require it to pinpoint the problem.Welcome to the site by the way. Feel free to get involved in the non-issue Skyrim discussions since it's always interesting to hear new input.
