  1. It's commonly agreed that the best are: Dragonrend (Shortens dragon fights considerably) Unrelenting Force (Very versatile) That shout that makes you attack faster, whatever it's called
  2. Anyone here have Playstation Allstars Battle Royale? I need to play with a friend for a trophy.

  3. Far Cry 3 is amazing. I'm watching my brother play it right now. It's like a modern day Bethesda game.
  4. How could I have forgotten about Borderlands 2? Added.
  5. Well, 2012 is coming to a close. We survived 3 apocolypses and once again Activision dominated the market with its cookie cutter shooter, CoD. We're here to celebrate the good, however. Think back on what your favorite game this year was, and share why you enjoyed it so much. For me, it would have to be Dragon's Dogma. This is literally how I discovered the game: I was on Poweruprewards.com Me: You know what the perfect game would be? I want a game with Dragon Age's party based combat, Skyrim's open world, and Shadow of the Colossus's boss battles. Hmm, what's this game Poweruprewards is recommending to me? Dragon's Dogma? Let's see what it's about. Site: This game involves venturing across an open world with your three companions. One of the unique features of this game is the ability to climb large monsters, kind of like in Shadow of the Colossus. Me: (falls out of chair) So, yeah, that's how I discovered it. Indeed, it was an excellent game, meeting my expectations, though it wasn't quite the same as what I expected. Indeed, I feel like anyone into RPGs, especially Skyrim and Dragon Age, should give this game a try. So, what was your GotY? I'm putting a poll of what I think some of the answers will be, but if your GotY isn't on there, post it and I'll add it to the list.
  6. Get at least 5 more Ps3 platinums Do something active for the MRAs Learn basic programming and design Get a job of some sort Go for a world record
  7. I remember them saying that their DLC was going to be less in number than Oblivion, but more content would be in each pack. For that reason, I think they're probably done. I could be wrong, though. I think Cyrodiil was coded into the game, so there has to be a reason for that.
  8. We have 100 guests online at all times, yet none of them bother to make an account.

Well, people have to want to post. Not sure how to go about fixing that.

  9. The only game on there that I would want that I don't own is Heavy Rain. Nonetheless, to anyone reading this, I implore you: Buy the Ico/SotC Collection.
  10. At first I was like this: But then I realized my PC probably couldn't run it.
  11. XIII-2 had platforming segments as well. There was one REALLY annoying section right before the final boss.
  12. I hate Desmond. I really do. He pretty much ruins any sense of seriousness the AC plot has.

Same. I've had many a Desmond rant much to the chagrin of Blexun.

  13. The Walking Dead: Episode 1We all love free stuff, don't we? Well, The Walking Dead: Episode 1 is now free on the XBLA. Receiving mass acclaim, this episodic game scored an underdog victory at the Video Game Awards and became 2012's Game of the Year. Beating titles such as Assassin's Creed 3, Black Ops 2, and the rest of 2012's triple-A titles is quite an accomplishment. Unfortunately for PS3 owners (me included), the episode has not yet arrived on the freebie list. Hopefully that will change after another month or so. PS3 owners do get a free release of their own. One of the biggest games of last year on iOS was a game called Jetpack Joyride. It's known for being incredibly addictive, and on the 31st, it will be free on the PSN store. Final Fantasy XIIIThis console generation, Square Enix has been focusing on the Final Fantasy XIII series. Yes, you read that right. Series. So far, there has been: [*]Final Fantasy XIII [*]Final Fantasy XIII-2 [*]Final Fantasy Type-0 (originally Agito XIII) [*]Final Fantasy Versus XIII (announced, not yet released) They have now announced Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. The series has received a lot of criticism for moving away from its roots; however, I thoroughly enjoyed both XIII and XIII-2 and can't wait to see what this game has to offer. This trailer does nothing but make me even more excited for its release sometime next year. ANGELICAA student at the Imperial College in London has created a computer game. It involves playing as Santa and guiding yourself through a platforming maze to get all the presents. Seems simple enough, right? Here's the catch: the levels are randomly generated. To accomplish this, the student created a program dubbed ANGELICA. The program goes through numerous calculating problems to create levels that are solvable at just the right difficulty. You might be thinking, "Big deal, it's just a random generator." Wrong. The program can actually learn from its code and create new game mechanics. In other words, its essentially a game designer. While this is a very cool invention, there will probably always be a place for a human's touch of creativity when it comes to designing, so game designers' jobs are probably safe. For now... If you're interested in trying it out yourself, it's available here. Click here to view the article

  15. It's an excellent system. I would say yes, but the PS4 is probably coming next year. It would be better to wait for that, in my opinion.
  16. Assassin's Creed III Uncharted 3: GotY Edition $20 Rush poster T-Shirt Sweatshirt 2 pairs of pajama pants Cross necklace Some candy I might get a few more things when I see my relatives in a couple days. And yes, ACIII is amazing. EDIT: Oh, I forgot; I also got an iPad mini.
  17. I've been thinking about learning Japanese to assist my path to a Game Design career. Anyone know how hard it is to learn?
  18. Shame we don't do this in the States. Our education system SUCKS, with all the useful stuff being learned in college.
  19. People say marijuana is safe, because it's natural. However, just because something's natural doesn't mean it's safe. Do you know what else is natural? Bears.

    1. Nathan

      Nathan

That is such a stupid argument. Living in Australia you are pretty much raised to realize nature will kill you if you aren't careful.

also stuff like carbon monoxide occurs naturally, and by no means would I willingly inhale that.

  21. I would buy it, but it's a bit over my budget. Maybe if it was $5.99 cheaper...

I would read that, but I forgot my climbing gear. ...and it seems that I quoted it three times, for some reason. A glitch, perhaps?
  23. Yeah, I forgot to post yesterday. I don't know why, I just didn't remember. Hopefully, since it's posted today, I still haven't missed a week? With no news since 2010, I had thought that the days of Mega Man were over. There's a Mega Man game that is being offered for free right now, however, and while it isn't a Mega Man in the traditional sense, it offers something for nostalgia. It is called Street Fighter x Mega Man, and it's offered by Capcom for free. The reviews say it's a great game with terrible UI, though I have yet to try the game myself. Minecraft creator Markus Persson recently reached a million followers on Twitter, making him the most followed game developer. Umm...that's it. That's all the info on this topic. One of the developers at Valve made this cool picture, though: In case you didn't know, the punter for the Minnesota Vikings, Chris Kluwe, is a huge fan of gaming. One of his favorite games of 2012 was XCOM: Enemy Unknown. He faced Garth DeAngelis from Firaxis Games in multiplayer, and got his butt kicked. Now, he's back for a rematch. If DeAngelis wins, then Firaxis gets his Twitter avatar for a week. If Kluwe wins, then he becomes an unlockable character in the game through a patch. Who will win? One theory people had is the Gangnam Style will finally hit 1 billion views, breaking the internet. There have actually been prophecies saying the end of the world will involve a dancing horse and 9 zeros... Not that I believe any of that.
