  1. Hi guys, welcome to my first gaming article. I'm going to aim to regularly provide you with gaming related news, including games and DLC that are coming out during the week, as well as new details on upcoming games and interesting news that relates to gaming from around the world.

    Game Releases

This week doesn't have a whole lot of games coming out, but here's we go anyway!

[*]On the 7th Mark of the Ninja will be released on Xbox Live Arcade.

[*]On the 11th Double Dragon Neon will be released on the PlayStation Network and XBLA

[*]Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will also be released on the 11th for PS3 and Xbox 360 and will also be released on the WiiU at the end of the year.

[*]Again on the 11th NHL 13 will be released on the PS3 and 360

[*]Hearthfire is released on the Xbox 360 Marketplace on the 4th, and will be released on other consoles at some later date hopefully. Hearthfire is, of course, the new DLC for Bethesda's amazing RPG Skyrim. I'm sure your at least aware of it, and we'll be giving you lots of content on this DLC. To summarize, it gives the player the ability to purchase land and build their own house as opposed to just buying an existing one. More information can by found here.

    PAX

Now although there weren't many game releases to tell you about this week hopefully I can make up for that as there is a lot of gaming news. As you may be aware, PAX Prime (PAX being the abreviation for Penny Arcade Expo) was held in Seattle last weekend and lots of interesting things came out of that.

[*]Firstly exciting details on the convention itself were announced. PAX 2013 is going to be a 4 day event and also (and this is particularly exciting for me) is going to have its first international event in Australia.

[*]The Crew from Penny Arcade of course gets along great with the team from Rooster Teeth who announced details at PAX about their own convention which in 2013 will be a 3 day event.

[*]Several upcoming games were available to play at PAX including Metal Gear Rising: Reveangance which was generally positively received and also the new Tomb Raider reboot.

[*]Epic Mickey 2 was also previewed and new playable characters for the MMO Marvel Heroes were also shown for the first time in a trailer.

[*]We also got more details on Assassins Creed 3, particularly on the storyline behind the new multiplayer, essentially the evil company Abstergo which serves as one of the main antagonists of the games has released the Animus to public as an entertainment device.

To serve as a nice segway, attendees at PAX celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the loveable pink Nintendo Character Kirby by setting the world record for the most people blowing bubble gum at one time and place To do this they had to hold the bubble for 30 seconds; 536 people participated to outdo the previous record of 304 people, and were rewarded for their effort with a preview of Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition which will be released on the Wii.

Weird and Interesting News from the World of Gaming

Here are a few of those odd things that you just can't get enough of.

[*]A blurry shot in a Trailer for Halo 4 was analyzed by NeoGaf and apparently contains important plot points and spoilers including the primary antagonist (don't worry I will keep these spoiler free)

[*]Capcom is investigating an incident were stolen German PS3 copies of the upcoming Resident Evil 6 were sold in a store in Poznan. The game's official release date is October 2nd.

[*]Many of us have been warned about how playing games for too long can damage your eyes but researchers at McMaster University conducted a study that suggested First Person Shooters can help improve the eyesight of people with disabilities such as amblyopia and cataracts.

[*]After helping create Angry Birds Space, NASA now plans on creating a MMO that simulates life on mars. It is estimated to cost $100 million.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it and look out for future articles!

  2. Level Milestone 30100 PostsDonated $15I was going to wait till I got to 40 milestone to save some trouble but I thought you might notice I had 100 posts and award me in advance (like when i reached 50) so I thought I may aswell.)Thanks in advance :D

  3. There's already a thread about this (in the link snuggles posted) but basically some people claim they have been able to while most people say they can't, so at the very least its glitchy. Hopefully its something that will be fixed in a future update, possibly even in Hearthfire, (which would make sense since its basically all about homes)

  4. Lol, I mentioned this, rofl, anyone knows how much this costs?

I tried to check before but Solomons store always plays up on me. I'm glad they're also eventually going to add it to the loyalty store, that seems like a much better way of doing it.[edit] its 378 rune coins, not sure how much that is in rl money

Just capped, we're just 999 stone off upkeep for the week, that's one persons work, However if we don't get that in the next 17 hours, the extra 3000 wood we have for the avatar habitat will be for pretty much nothing.

Pretty good effort this week (compared to usual) even if it is a little disappointing that we don't have as many resources as our visitor count would suggest. It's better than what we usually have where a few people work really hard to get upkeep but then we don't have enough visitors.

To those that don't skill at the citadel, you should definitely consider it, see my previous post for some of the reasons why.

  6. I plan on re-watching Outlaw Star ( My first anime, unless you could Sailor Moon and Speed Racer, lol ) and then I'll probably move on to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I have seen both anime, but it's been a long time and I love them both. Still looking for something new to watch that really catches my eye though.I wish I had the actual time to read the mangas. Anime is just easier to multi-task with though :<

I plan on watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann at some point. Also its interesting that you say you don't have the time to read the manga, I actually generally do it because its quicker to read, but I can definitely agree with the multi-tasking thing, manga requires your full attention in order for you to have any understanding of whats going on...and even then sometimes its far more difficult than it would be in anime (mainly fight scenes)
  7. So as far as I can tell we don't have one of these at the moment, and I know there are quite a few people here who do like anime/manga, (Because there seems to be a lot of crossover between gamers and anime/manga fans. Anyway I decided to make one, I had started one in the premium forums until I realised that was a stupid place to put it.So anything you want to discuss about manga and anime can go here.Only rules are if you are about to talk about something that could be considered a spoiler put it in spoiler tags, and give warning that you are about to spoil something, and of course all the general forum rules including no flaming, so you can't just go bagging anime or manga, you were welcome to say why you particularly may not enjoy the genre or specific series but yeah...So to get things going what anime have you watched and Which Manga have you read? (also I'm assuming people know the difference if not feel free to say so)So I started watching anime a few years back (I actually saw a post about it in the TRR forums and that's what got me started) The spoiler tags below have my history of anime/manga, there aren't any spoilers its just kind of long.

So From the topic I mentioned above I decided to watch Death-Note, it sounded like people liked it and seemed to suit my interests, the plot really made me see that anime wasn't just a kids thing like I'd previously thought (I had watched pokemon, yugioh and some dragonball (though it was never shown in order so i had no idea what was going on) then when I was done with that I started watching bleach. Eventually i decided to read the manga since it took so long to download the anime and took up a lot of space and caused me to reach my internet limit regularly. So I caught up to the Bleach manga, then I started reading Naruto (I also bought the first few volumes of the anime and watched them.) So my first few anime/manga were kind of backwards to most of the people I know.I then went on to read Full Metal Alchemist. Then I went to read Fairy Tail before I heard there were a lot of references in it to the manga-ka's previous manga Rave/Rave Master, so I decided to read that first and I also read his collection of short stories. Then I finally started to read Fairy Tail. I got about 100 chapters through it then stopped for a while.I decided rather than reading what I'd read I would watch the anime up to where I was so I did that, and also started watching Soul Eater (up until when it deviated from the manga) then I went back to reading both of those manga. So I finished that, I decided to read Fruits Basket just for something different and I run my own manga fan group on deviantART so I thought I should try it out even though its a very Shojou manga. I also read Dragon Ball at the same time, I've also started watching the Anime. Then I read D.Gray Man, then Black Butler. Currently reading one Piece and kind of reading Ikki Tousen and some weird seijen manga called Banana no Nana (Nana of Banana). And although its not quite an anime I'm also watching Avatar: The last airbender at the moment, Currently almost at the end of the Earth Book.

  8. So I've had a few people in the cc and on the forums what the benefits of using the citadel are. I recently saw this section of an article on RS wiki which I thought summed it up well."The immediate reward for skilling in the citadel is experience. For every action done, experience is gained in the relative skill. The experience rate in the citadel is not as fast as can be obtained on the surface, but it is completely free - no tools are required to do any action, nor is any resource gathered elsewhere. All the citadel resources are confined to the citadel.A secondary reward for helping in the citadel is a clan ring, which gives a limited amount of 1.5× bonus experience when skilling on the surface. For more details, see below.Consecutively earning a clan ring will award clan fealty, up to a maximum of level 3 fealty after 3 weeks. The fealty level gives bonus experience when skilling in the citadel, as long as a clan cape is owned (15%, 30% or 45% for level 1, 2 or 3 fealty respectively). There is also an additional reward at level 3 fealty, which provides bonus experience in a skill of your choice every week. The experience received is equivalent to what the Jack of Tradesaura gives, or what a pair of Strange rocks in the skill will give. Maintaining the rank 3 fealty means you can obtain the weekly experience. Finally and most importantly, you are directly helping out the clan. All resources you gather go directly into helping out the citadel in its upkeep and upgrades. "(Please Note this is copied directly from runescape.wikia.com)Also I'm assuming from the goals that we're aiming for an avatar habitat this week?

  9. Black Widow was in it because she knows hawk eye and helped him back from the "dark side". IMO they were both in it so Marvel can bring out a movie about 1 or both of them lol

There were going to be movies about them leading up to the Avengers similar to captain america and hulk, they're also 2 of the original Avengers. (I believe they almost had the full team, they were just missing Scarlet Witch, Ant Man, and Dr Strange[the latter 2 are probably going to have movies leading up to Avengers 2], there could be more though, I'm not certain). But I doubt they'll ever have the complete original team as they will probably put spiderman and maybe even wolverine in the next Avengers movie since they've been members of the Avengers/New Avengers/West Coast Avengers at some point. Also sorry for replying to such an old topic just thought I could share a bit of what I know/think in case there was someone who was interested.
  10. I actually agree,I'd never even consider buying these appearance-related stuff and animations, it adds nothing. I would consider buying extra bankspace and stuff like that though.

Its also not like its cheap either, I mean consoles sell appearance stuff now too, but its cheaper than there other stuff...on the other hand some of the stuff in Solomons store is really expensive, especially the assassins outfit. Not that I personally would buy it if it were cheaper but I'd be far more willing to accept it. More bank space would be awesome, and yeah thats something I would consider buying.
  11. Freakin SoF :( I don't mind Solomons store as much, at least you know what your getting if you do pay for things but I still wish they would put as much effort into the actual game in order to increase memberships and make their money that way. I wouldn't mind these items and animations etc if they implemented them into an actual part of the game, eg as quest rewards. Also using any of the things you buy from them often labels you a noob who just spends more money on the game to look good (something I encountered even though I haven't spent a thing on either of these, I just spent my initial RuneCoins well, I only bought stuff that was free and stuff that was on sale and I actually wanted and could afford)Sorry, I just needed to vent my frustration.
