  1. thanks man if its true this will realy help me out

Glad I could help! My friends and I are getting mad gains lately doing this.

A great app. if you have Android is the "A HIIT Interval Timer". I set my times to 15 seconds to get ready, 1:20 (80s) where I'm lifting -- so I know if I'm accidently failing too early, then 40s later (120s) -- so I know if I am doing too little resistance, and then a 3min 30s interval for resting. So each exercise ends up taking 5:45 for me, sometimes I rest a little longer though if I don't feel like I'm ready to max again. There are only 4 exercises per set, 8 exercises during weeks 5 & 6, so the routine takes either 23m or 46m + warm up + cooldown. I know it doesn't sound like enough to do anything but it seems to work incredibly well.

I have a really good warm up and cool down that I always do; it's designed to fix my tight calves/hams/hip flexers and in the process fix my back issues. I know a lot of people struggle with the same stuff, from sitting all day or just from keeping a poor posture in general, so I'll plan on posting it later in this thread.

  2. Kudos for this. I have a book written by one of my TaeKwonDo instructors, goes on about a lot of the same stuff, although my friend is borrowing it nao. So, I'm assuming this all applies if you are just doing pushups/dips etc - I'm 15, so I'm just trying to avoid weights for a while.

Haha, that's cool, my book only hits on muscles for about 30 pages. So far it's about 200 pages, without the pictures and spacing, all about healthy living.

Yeah, the specific exercises aren't required by any means. Just applying the protocol to anything will get you the biggest results. This is the best for size (looks) but once you have the size you can get the strength so much easier it's worth doing even if you're only looking for strength oriented workouts like calisthenics.

    Cheers

  4. For those who are interested in starting to get in shape: I'm a massage therapist, personal trainer, and going to school for exercise science & health.

Stop eating grains, dairy, and starchy (potatos, etc.) and sugary shit (including fruit). If you just do that you'll lose fat like crazy. Drink Green Tea daily to boost your metabolism. Replace those empty calories with good fats and proteins. Don't worry about cholesterol, as only 15% of your body's cholesterol is dietary, 85% of it is made within you, and practically 100% of the studies conducted show that people who replace carbs with fat actually lower their cholesterol, triglycerides, etc..

Okay, so now that you're losing fat you don't want to turn into a bean poll. Muscle looks good as long as it's placed right. And, since you're eating enough protein you can start building some muscle on your sexy ass. Here's how you build muscle faster than any other way that you'll ever find:

TL;DR summary: 80-120s time under pressure per exercise. As slow as possible without "stop/go motion" lifting speed. One set to max failure. >3 minutes between each exercise

Don't count reps (how many times you lift a weight up/down.) Count Time Under Pressure instead. There are four types of muscle fiber in ever muscle in ever person, the fourth kind is the fastest growing and has the potential to be the biggest muscle type. Unfortunately for most, they never develop it because it takes 80 seconds of time-under-pressure to even activate this fourth type of muscle fiber in that muscle group. So, 80 seconds is the minimum amount of time you want to do each exercise for. 120 seconds is the maximum because if you go over 120 seconds then your body won't have the hormonal response of "oh shit..." and you won't flush your glycogen stores, pump adrenaline, etc etc. that ultimately results in more HGH and muscle growth.

You want to do every exercise as slow as possible without getting "stop & go movement." This is because the slower you move the more control you need--your muscles will constantly be twitching to adjust the load balance, even when you don't notice it. The faster you go the less your body needs to do this. As long as you're moving there's no benefit of moving faster--just don't stop moving. As slow as possible is key, don't ever "hold" the peak either, that's dumb shit.

One set is all you need. People like to brag about doing like 6 sets of X x 16 reps in one day for 5 hours..well it's pointless. You trigger the exact same amount of HGH from 1 set as you will from 2, 3, 4, or 5000 sets. You can only grow so much in so much time, and 26 out of the 28 university level studies have shown that there's absolutely zero benefit to doing more than one rep max. Always max btw, not maxing is just a waste of your time. So what if you don't get as much of "the pump" that bodybuilders always talk about, this does nothing for you except make you feel like you got more of a workout. You want to know what that "pump" feeling is? It's pyruvate and lactic acid from your anaerobic ATP cycle... this doesn't benefit you at all.

Take at least 3 minutes between each exercise. This is the biggest mistake I see everyone doing. If you're over 170 lbs of lean muscle then you'll want to make it 3.5 minutes and add another 30 seconds for every 10 lbs after that. This is how long it takes your glycogen stores in your muscles to replenish (or your beta-hydroxybutyrate to replenish if you're on a ketone diet, which you should be for SO many reasons!) Glycogen (or, even better [your body even prefers to use this first] is beta-hydroxybutyrate) is what powers your muscle contractions, so if you start without a full supply you won't be able to fail as hard as if you just wait a bit for full energy stores.

Okay, so now that you know how to exercise, I'll tell you WHAT to exercise:

Some people are retarded, "You want nice abs? DO CRUNCHES!" is the WORST  advice you can give someone. Exercising makes your muscles bigger. I know plenty of power-lifters who don't have 6-packs, and I know plenty of skinny bitch boys who do. Muscle definition is how you define a muscle, and that's 100% based on body fat percentage. The only way to lower your body fat percent is by dieting. Cardio is a stupid waste of time, why spend an hour running and guaranteeing bad knees by 45 if you could burn the same amount of calories by sleeping for two hours? I could go on and on and on about how "cardio training" doesn't exist, because your lungs can only be as healthy as the rest of your body..they're not a freaking muscle, you morons, you can't train them!! Okay, well now I'm just ranting. Enough with the, "do not's". If you just forget everything you've previously been told, and do these specific exercises, you will get as close as you ever can to getting a "golden ratio body."

The best way to reach max failure is by isolating a muscle group as much as you can. These exercises target the specific muscle groups that you want to pop out for men's looks. This isn't about becoming a power lifter, this is about looking like a Demigod as fast as possible.

After four weeks of exercise your muscle gets used to those movements, so you need to switch it up. In this routine you're always working the right muscles in a perfect cycle of good isolation movements after you've done target compound exercises to get them ready for failure, which is only necessary to strengthen the stabilizers for the muscle so that it can get bigger with no holdbacks. You also want to do lighter weights once in a while so that when you do heavy weights again you re-trigger more HGH.

One more thing before I give you the routine: Two day splits are the best if you actually want to get somewhere. Taking 2-3 days off after every heavy exercise day is pretty much a requirement for anyone over 150lbs, it just takes that long to recover. We all know working a specific group is best just once a week because it takes > a week to recover, but most of you doing 3-5 day splits are just being meat heads. Wake up in the morning and squeeze your hands into fists, if you feel weak then you need to take the day off-it's that simple. Take at least 2 days off between each set. I just lift on Monday (arms/chest) & Thursday (legs/back/shoulders.)

There are so many more things that came into creating this routine, but I'm not going to type it all out so just shut up and do it. A lot of you will say, "Oy..dat exercise don't work dat muscle?!" Well, there are a lot of ways to do an exercise. Do it so you target the muscle I say it targets. *Ahem*:

    Week 1, Set 1:

    Chest/Arms Day-

Incline Dumbbell Fly - Pec Minor. Perform a dumbbell fly on an incline bench.

Decline Dumbbell Fly - Pec Major. Perform a dumbbell fly on a decline bench.

Dumbbell Elevator Curls - Biceps. Normal curls but you lean forward and bring the weight up to your armpit instead of in front of you, to minimize deltoid engagement.

Dumbbell Pullovers - Triceps and Lats (Yeah, I know lats are on your back..now gtfo.) Lay on decline bench and pull two dumbbells, further than shoulder with apart, from above your arms straight above your head to your arms straight above your head.

    Legs/Back/Delts Day-

Standing Medial Calves - These calf exercises are the only ones that you'll do quickly, you want to explode onto your tip-toes each rep. Do as many reps as you can like this; touch your heel to the ground, explode to the tip of your toes. Keep your toes engaged the whole time.

Standing Lateral Calves - Do these leaning/pushing with your hands on a wall in front of you. For medial calf you want your feet wide and pointed out, big toe pushing to the ground. For lateral calf you want your feet closer together and pointed together with your little toes pushing to the ground. I do these without shoes on, really burns in places you didn't know exists.

Dumbbell Bent Row - Straddle over an incline bench with your chest pressed to the bench, let your hands act like hooks with your biceps/triceps completely relaxed and pull your elbow back. Keep your elbow out about 45* from your waist.

Lateral Dumbbell Raises - Grab some lighter dumbbells in each hand and raise them to your side, parallel to the floor.

Remember to do everything as slow as possible!!

Week 2, Set 1 while using Fat Gripz when available.

    Week 3, Set 2:

    Chest/Arms Day-

Incline Barbell Bench - You know what to do.

    Decline Barbell Bench - "                                "

Barbell Elevator Curls - Barbell instead of dumbbell. A lot more weight than what you used with dumbbells.

    Barbell Overhead Press - "                                "

    Legs/Back/Delts Day-

One Legged Squat - Look up how to start doing this. Chances are you'll fail royally at first, but you'll get it in a couple weeks.

Opposite Leg Squat - Once you can do it just hold the light dumbbells out in front of you (really helps with balance at first.) Raise the weight of the dumbbells until you can go longer on your legs than your arms, then start holding a heavier barbell closer to your chest for exercise weight.

Barbell Bent Row - Same as dumbbell bent row, but with a lot heavier barbell.

Anterior Barbell Raises - Instead of lifting dumbbells to your sides, lift a barbell directly in front of you with a heavier weight.

Week 4 do Set 2 while using Fat Gripz on applicable exercises.

Week 5 and 6 do Set 2 followed by Set 1 (Set 2 arms/chest, then set 1 arms/chest on your arms/chest day, etc.), no Fat Gripz on any of these days.

Then just keep repeating until you have the body you want. Notice that there's no abs or cardio? No need for that shi..

  5. My favorite books:

The Inheritance Series by Christopher Paolini, starting with "Eragon".

"Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card, the sequals sucked though imo.

"Homeland" -Legend of Drizzt in the Forgotten Realm's series by RA Salvatore.

    The "Harry Potter" series.

    "Princess Bride".

  6. I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not actually a lemur.www.eldersouls.com/trolls/heyyeayeahProm photo. You can see the edge of date 1's hair from her cropped out face.

I read this whole thread with the intention of seeing David.. I find out he's a lemur with a broken link.

ps- I have an infatuation with David.

  7. Settler's of Catan is really really really fun.

    Risk is always good.

    Monopoly once in a while.

Battlestar Galactica is one of the most fun games EVER!!

Blockus is fun with the right people.

Scrabble can be really fun with the right people.

Liar's Dice if you have a bunch of dice laying around, good drinking game too.

Lots of card games for fun while camping, etc.

WOW the board game if we have like 8 hours...but it's only cool because the PvP at the very end and the action figures. Other then that it sucks. Still kick myself in the face for buying both expansions for this shit.

  8. I thought this was going to be a serious thread so I was bringing going to post my workout station...

Dragon Pirates – Tut Tut Child

    Etc..

But, since we're being super serious; http://heyyeyaaeyaaaeyaeyaa.com/  for cardio and

     for lifting.
  9. It's probably a bit early to work on it now since we don't know some necessary details, but this is definitely something that I'd love to have around. Were you planning on something akin to the Skyrim perk calculator?

More like the Diablo 3 one combined with that one.

    Like so: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian

    Just set up differently-

Each unlock you use says, "X unlocks used" and each active or passive ability says, "requires X level in X skill tree to unlock". That way people are able to see how far they must go to unlock the build they want to play as, even before morphing starts occuring.

Then you should be able to set up Skill Bar 1 and Skill Bar 2, of course, and then show the weapon perks that are active for each bar (because it'll be different depending on the weapon).

idk, hard to describe but I've got a vision that looks pretty hot in my head.. Haha

  10. I don't understand how they are balancing melee VS ranged damage. Do melee users get a big bonus? If so that's OP. If not, then how would these class systems work where melee users don't get Anti-CC?

I think they need to extravagantly vamp up the anti-cc that certain weapons come with, or the PvP will be completely one sides.

  11. In this game, more than most, I think there will be a huge gap between how effective a character is in certain situations. I feel that the following is a pretty good representation of how the top-tiered players will look (There will be a lot of exceptions, where people playing them aren't built as well as they could be. This, again, is for the elite. Average players will want to do their own thing and they'll be just fine!):

Templar should be best for group PVE and group PVP, and not just for being able to throw out heals on occasion. They are extremely versatile while still having great DPS potential.

Dragonknight is best for tanking or best for max dps. A lot of the time these characteristics will be great in PVP, but these two specialties will shine definitely shine brighter in PVE.

Mage will be the best for Solo PVE due to Summons. Having a pocket-tank is priceless while soloing. As long as you have mana, you should never lose in a PVE fight. You can lock someone down while your pet tanks another. 2v1 and you'll never even be targeted. They are also going to be great to have in group PVP after they've unlocked more of their upper abilities.

Nightblade should be the best for solo PVP all-round. The utility they get is too great. While they might not be maxed out in CC like a Mage, have as wide of a spectrum as Templars, or be as niche as DKs, you will not see a nightblade coming and they will come fast. If things turn sour for them it's an easy get-a-way.

Obviously this is a very early assessment and things could change substantially. This is only how things currently appear to look.

  12. Magicka only Mage. I think that a Nightblade works better for this than a Mage does, but I tried to make it work as best I could.

    WHILE LEVELING –

You might want to have the following skills to make leveling faster (and unlocking your new abilities quicker by balancing your bars more evenly):

    Unstable Familiar-

    Winged Twilight-

    Dark Exchange-

+The other three passives from Summoning.

While leveling I'd replace Lightning Splash with Unstable Familiar on the Destro Bar. On the Resto Bar I'd replace Bound Armor with Dark Exchange, Guardian Circle with Winged Twilight, and Lightning Form with Mages Fury. Mages Fury would then be on both bars, but it seems to be your best damaging ability, and that's more important for leveling than endgame.

  13. Keep in mind that crafting "additives" are also supposed to add traits to armor. Perhaps different armor classes will have different bonus traits available, so with crafting you can get that bonus to melee damage you're after?

Do we know if Brace costs stamina? The difference could be that bracing is free, while you have to be more choosy about when to dodge. Or, it's possible that it's easier to hold aggro while bracing than while dodging (which won't really matter in PvP, but it could be important for group PvE).

Bracing costs something, "Reduces cost of bracing by 3% per piece of armor" (Heavy). I think it's probably Stamina cost.

The armor enchantments are going to be awesome, I think this is the main reason why people will wear different types of armor at once! :)

Imagine a -15% stamina cost for Dodge on your Medium boots but you are a PURE tank so you have the rest of your gear as +X% healing, -X% damage taken, increase armor by X, and then you even have some Light armor on you for Increased magical resistances.

I think the only way they'll make this work is if they make certain armor weights (light medium heavy) have SPECIFIC characteristics that only they can get. On top of SLOT specific enchantments that you can only get for that slot.

If it's how I think it is, I love it so much I could...ahh.. I just came.

  14. That's something, though, isn't it? I'm replaying from Morrowind bringing the same character through all the way to Skyrim right now, and I'm thinking...

Morrowind: Light armor will always encumber you less but provide less protection. Heavy armor will always weigh you down but offer the best protection. (And then there's medium armor -- even with expansions, always heavier than light armor but only providing marginally more protection. Why?!?!)

Oblivion: With maxed armor and armorer skills, the only difference between light and heavy is that light breaks slightly more quickly.

Skyrim: Heavy and light provide a master perk that makes a slight difference (dodge vs. reflect damage), and heavy takes fewer perks to max out (since it has several useless perks you can skip), but other than that there's no difference between them.

ESO: Armor type is a deciding factor in your build/role in the group. I like this!

That's funny, I'm doing the exact same thing right now (starting in morrowind and playing through with the same class!) I personally am having troubles playing morrowind though right now, it's just too cheesy looking back on it, haha!

    My take on ESO Armor:

If you want to take get more Heals and take less melee damage use heavy armor.

If you want to have more Stamina and get more mobility use medium armor.

If you want to have more Magicka and get more spell resistance use light armor.

Heavy armor can add slight melee damage. Medium armor can increase Sneaking/Crouching efficiency. Light armor can increase spell damage.

I honestly think that heavy armor needs a buff to the melee damage right now, otherwise it just doesn't look that great unless you plan on being a pure PVE tank. Medium armor Stam increase is probably enough to outdamage people in Heavy armor, and at the same time the mobility it adds is super amazing. Full Light armor seems to add the most damage of them all.

The biggest problem that I have with armor is that you get a set bonus if you have 5+ (6 with shield I guess) pieces of one armor weight. The reason why this is a problem is because it pushes people away from using what they want. I personally would love to mix Light and Medium to balance my Stam and Magicka regeneration.

Edit: Yeah, Heavy armor you can "Brace" better. But Medium armor you can DODGE better. No damage > less damage.

  15. Max Bow DPS (by far the best for Bow PVE if that's what you want to do)--

    Medium Armor, Bow, Templar.

    Scattering Shot

    Piercing Javelin

    Sun Fire

    Solar Flare

    Snipe

    *Rite of Passage

You can only use Scattering Shot within 7m, so Piercing Javelin right after Scattering Shot to push target even further back.

Sun Fire to slow them and then solar flare. If they are further than 20m then get a snipe in for the 40% extra damage!

Rite of Passage is such an awesome heal. I'm not sure yet how long it takes to get Ult up to 150 but it's a huge heal.

  16. Now here's a question: Will passive skills also have morphs? That could make things real interesting!

That'd be too much, haha. I doubt it. If you look at the Nightblade leaked skills on these forums it shows a Spell Level next to it, but no spell level next to the passives. I take this to mean that they can't be leveled, but who knows? :P

I think it's more about strategically placing your skill points into them. "Is it worth putting a point into this instead of morphing that or getting this new active?" And, because a lot of the passives are essentially useless if you're not using a certain setup, I feel like they should stay how they are. I mean, you can eventually get enough skill points to get ALL of them... but you don't need to because some won't benefit your build.

This is a huge part of what makes building characters so interesting: The passives you choose matter a ton when you're matching them with your actives. This is why a DK Fire staff in light armor has the most damage output, not because loading the skill bar with a bunch of damage abilities does the trick, but because when you have the MOST AMOUNT of passives that directly affect you..while other characters might only get 3 or 4 from their whole Class that directly helps them.

Most the armor passives seem hellamazeballs though, I'm glad they're making it a big deal..cause in Skyrim it wasn't at all.

  17. I WANT TO BE A MEDIUM ARMOR EQUIPPING, BOW WIELDING, MAGE. Let's make it work:

    Bow Abilities:

    Snipe

    Mage Abilities:

    Surge

    Bolt Escape

    Repulse

    Encase

    Ultimate Ability:

    Overload

To me this would be the most fun class to play. If you come across someone who can counter you pretty well then just run away (nobody can catch you!) The only problem is that it's so Magicka heavy for a build that you'll want a lot of Stamina on. I don't think all the +magicka and +stam regen will be enough to make up for the huge cost of Snipe when you catch someone unawares you'll want to blow your load on them..and you'll have a small load..and she'll be disappointed. :(

A good 2nd weapon for this build would be Dual Wield or a Resto Staff. Dual wielding would be good to finish people with, and good for fighting mages who are doing too much damage output to you to counter if you don't feel like running away. A resto staff would be good if you would prefer to run away, heal up, and then get the tactical advantage and snipe their asses down.

ps- Use a bow with Lightning enchant on it to gain bonuses from mage's lightning passives.

  18. From what I can gather, it looks like passives are always on, but most of them are contingent on certain conditions. For instance, armor passives do nothing if you aren't wearing the right armor. That said, I have no source for confirmation of this -- but I've seen no UI to indicate the slotting of passives (and I do believe I've seen all of the leaked + official footage) and most of the passives are worded to be effective only in specific situations.

That said, I'm a hardcore roleplayer so I'll completely disregard this in favor of flavor. My Ebonheart character will be a Dunmer Templar, even though at this juncture Dragonknight appears to be the optimal class for Dunmer -- but if I'm a Dunmer, I'm gonna be an Ashlander, and I need my (Aedric for some reason) spears! Well, my Breton (Sorcerer) and Khajiit (Nightblade) characters are likely to have good race-class synergies, at least.

Haha, awesome man! I wish I knew exactly what I wanted to play. It'd save me so much headache! I can't play a game unless I know I'm min/maxing as much as possible, and since it doesn't look like you can respec later or anything except for re-morph abilities...well I want to do it right the first time.

I know I'll have open beta to fuck with everything at a nearly finished level, but I don't think that'll be long enough to decide for me. =( /wrist.. Jesus tits I'm obsessive.

Edit: It does really really look like all the passives you unlock will always be active without a limit (as long as you meet the conditions, of course.) This is insane.

  19. Not a bad concept, but its still too early to discuss a talent calculator as the community has no idea how the slotting of abilities will really work. Do passives have to be slotted? Are they contigent on your current weapon selection? Racial bonuses? Plus the simple mechanic of unlocking things are all, as of yet, unknown to the masses.

Again, I appreciate the idea, but it is all pure speculation at this point.

    ~Q

We pretty much do know all of that. http://www.twitch.tv/bethesda/b/439743009  Skip to 0:48:50.

The only thing we don't know are the racials for AD and Daggerfall, and exactly how the passives are slotted. So the only speculation we'd do is that based on the video it looks like you can only have one of your Class skill tree passive abilities active at one time. And for now the only thing missing would be AD and Daggerfall racials.

All the other information (when things unlock, etc.) is available from beta leaks. How your active abilities are slotted, etc. I mean.. the guy in yesterdays official gameplay video was level 16 and he barely had anything unlocked--so I think having a beginning talent calc wouldn't be trivial at all + whoever makes it can update it as more info is released.

Anyone else interested in making one--or should I start? XD

Guide to designing your ESO character before you start playing:

    Step 1) Choose your class.

Choose which Ultimate you like the most! Every class has 12 passive abilities nd 15 active abilities to choose from. If you choose your passives and actives you can make any of the classes come pretty close to what you want it to be in the end, so choosing this based off of 1 out of the 9 Class Ultimates that won't change makes the most sense. If you can't decide which ultimate you like, then make a list of the all 4 classes 12 passive abilities, and see what combinations you can come up with that appeals to you the most. Then, as you play, use abilities from the Skill Tree that has the move of those passives and you will unlock them quicker.

    Step 2) Choose your weapon.

Look at the Passive abilities that you can choose for that weapon. Just like for Active Class abilities, all weapons are able to perform similarly by morphing the Active abilties, so Passive abilities are what is important here.

    Step 3) Choose your armor.

Look at the passive abilities that you can choose from for each armor type and decide which one synergizes best with class and weapon passives.

Step 4) Choose your 2nd weapon.

You'll probably want at least one Range weapon to be able to utilize the game's Stealth ability, by attacking from a distance while still unseen. If your first weapon choice is either a destro or resto staff then I'd recommend taking the other staff (resto if you took destro, destro if you took resto) as your second weapon. This way you can go pure Magicka instead of putting points into Stamina (because Class abilities all cost Magicka). On the other hand if you take a melee weapon or a bow you still need to put points into Magicka because your class abilities use it, so in that case it is still okay for you to choose one of the staves as your secondary weapon. But, choosing another phsysical weapon will be better because you can balance Mag/Stam accordingly for your primary and it will work well still for your secondary weapon choice.

    Step 5) Choose your race.

Each race gets an active ability and four passive abilities. Some races get +% XP towards certain skill trees, increased healing taken, increased fire damage given, increased weapon power, etc. passive abilities. So you really do want to choose your race last. If you chose it first you might get +15% to Bow experience, yet you might never want to use a bow. In that case it would either persuade you into using a bow, which isn't cool, or you wouldn't get the 15% bonus for one of the skills you do have that you could have gotten if you already knew what you wanted to play as.

Step 6) Choose your active abilities.

Do you want to Nuke, DOT, HOT, AOE, Single Target Heal, CC, Anti-CC, Maximize Mobility, Tank, etc.. Or, do you want to be a hybrid of two or more of those? Well this is where choosing your abilities comes into play. They will end up being dramatically more refined to your desires in the end than they are in the beginning, but the general message of the abilities is there. Remember that you need to use abilities from the sections that you want the passives from, or you'll never unlock those passives.

    Step 7) Play!

The options are practically endless, so don't take too long trying to decide (like I have). Just play the game and you can always start leveling up something else after you're more experienced in the game! :)
