MstrMonopoly
So a bunch of skills are "useless" in the current metagame. A perfect example is woodcutting - there's literally no reason to woodcut anymore given its dearth of high level rewards and terrible profits. How should Jagex revive dead skills and how should it prevent them from dying again?

MstrMonopoly
Firemaking. That is all.Even that's useful in that new dungeon that just came out. With the new slayer monsters. The firemaking version of the LRC?too bad that new dungeon is useless.
Blakelington
My friend has been nagging me about this- specifically firemaking. But I make all my money from woodcutting so if it's really "dead" tell everyone you know to stop cutting my yews!

I guess WC is still viable in F2P.

T ranger101
Some people say agility is a dead skill. Personally i dont believe so. Its a VERY valuable skill to have!

MrThunder
Hunter and Firemaking. I remember the premiere of Hunter, and there was 2000 people on the beach trapping birds. Now, everyone i know just use it as a "vacation" skill, something else to do while you take a break from money making or skilling.Sorry, Firemaking just speaks for itself. No offense to anyone that ACTUALLY likes FM out there
Terravilla
Firemaking is still pretty useless. Just as a skill idea in general, there's not much point to it. woodcutting at least made sense, because you can use logs to make a variety of different things. Also, Blexun must love this thread. Tynisa
Why has nobody mentioned fletching? It has never been better in anybodies life to go out, cut a magic log, teleport, pick flax, spin flax, make a magic shortbow and then string it.
APOLLYON
imo they should just do a remodel on the skill guilds and have sum rewards available like they did by making the gold cannon

At least you can make a portable range with Firemaking.
Deus
Well, with all the fishing bots out there, there really is no need to fish anymore. Prices of fish are uber cheap, and you get horrible horrible gp's per hour now days fishing not to mention the shit xp hr.
Dusang
High leveled fishing content would be nice. I guess.Firemaking has the adze, which is atleast a little useful.

Tynisa
Fishing a full bank of rocktails, woodcutting down a magic tree with the inferno adze, then making a fire with said logs and a tinderbox, then cooking a full inventory of rocktail's on said fire is better than fletching an inventory full of mage longbows worth max 1.5kgp, and not even equipping one because rune crossbow/darts/knives are better/The Unfeltchabble Dark Bow
Deus
Yeah fletching isnt 'as' profitable as it used to be.
MstrMonopoly
What Fletching really needs is some sort of upgrade-existing-bows thing. Example, at level 95 you should be able to fletch a "balanced" magic shortbow with dart speed. Or more special effects or something.
T ranger101
Or a tripod to put on your bow, Just like sniper rifles to keep it steady and accurate...... or perhaps a silencer? For Lol's
Entersyed
Agility is useful, but it's extremely tedious to train, so I would like the idea of making it more fun to level. Firemaking however is useless until you get to really high levels and tedious to train, needs a total rework.
T ranger101
agreed. I think the higher your agility level, the more emotes you should be able to unlock. Also i think new agility arenas are in order. *Thinks a unlimited sprint at level 99 would be awesome :3*
Tynisa
With all the new updates that happen, new skills overtake old ones. However i do believe that its good for skills to be outdated; its how rs will evolve in the future, and why it is each week that we recieve an update. Seriously, I never understood why game makers would slow down a game for no reason.Exactly, i mean it makes it a little more "Realistic" with it having a certain amount of energy you can run, but Honestly we all know its a stupid video game, therefor we dont really give a shit about "Realistic" qualities.
