  1. Sorry, I skimmed the thing. It was late at night and I was supposed to be doing homework.
  2. Okay, so we all have ideas that we think will make a cool game. If you have any desire to work in the industry, those who already work in it hammer this fact into your brain. "YOUR IDEA HAS NO CHANCE," they tell you.Maybe so, but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun with them. If you have a good idea for a game, post it here! We can compare and maybe discuss what we think would make a good game. Also, remember to include gameplay mechanics. A story alone doesn't make a game. Here are mine:1. I haven't figured out the overall story yet, but you play as a boy in a Middle Ages world who has been bitten by a werewolf, and has to find a cure. The game functions on a Day-Night cycle. During the day, it plays more like a traditional RPG, where you can equip weapons, equipment, and buy supplies and take quests from villagers. When nighttime comes, however, the game completely changes. You morph into a savage werewolf. The game instantly becomes more Hack n' Slash oriented. You cannot use weapons or armor, but your claws more than do the trick. However, villagers attack you on sight. Waiting until nighttime could be handy for the harder dungeons.2. This is a multiplayer focused FPS, kind of like Battlefield or Call of Duty. However, it is set in Medieval times. You can set yourself up with all different kinds of weapons, ranging from swords to crossbows, and maybe even magic, though that might be a bit of a stretch. The melee combat would do the most damage, but you obviously don't have range if you go that route. There would also be a single player campaign about being framed for a murder, and trying to clear your name.3. This game is set during the civil war. It is a co-op focused third person shooter. You play the role of a plantation owner and his slave, who have both joined the southern army. This particular slave owner didn't treat his slaves all that badly, and therefore he develops a friendship with the one he brings with him. Many parts will rely on teamwork, such as utilizing the slave's strength with the plantation owner's weapon skills. What do you think of these ideas? I know that chances are none of them will ever be a game, but if they were, would you play any of these? Post your ideas if you wish!
  3. Faith in humanity=lost. She says it's just business, not prostitution.Well, prostitution is a business, and what she did is the textbook definition of it.On another note, poor guy, only getting $3000 and risking an STD. Let's hope whoever bought him wasn't a man.
  4. In my opinion, it was better than the Avengers.
  5. Anyone know of a website that can teach me C++ or Java? I need to learn some programming if I want to work in the industry one day.

I don't want to seem unprofessional about this shit, not using websites/books anymore, but he hasn't got 250k+ subscribers for nothing. http://www.youtube.com/user/thenewboston Btw, be prepared for C++, it's a lot harder than Java.

  6. Borderlands 2 DLC The Mechromancer was not the final Borderlands 2 class as it turns out. Gearbox has announced that they plan to release more classes for Borderlands 2 as DLC. However, they haven't revealed much about what the classes are going to be. One possibility is a "summoner" type character who controls raptors. (Source: Smosh Games) An artistic take on Borderlands 2 classes. 38 Studios AuctionThe state of Rhode Island recently had an auction to sell of 38 Studios, developers of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. 95% of their stuff has been sold. What's left is mostly company furniture and the Kingdoms of Amalur IP. I wish the former employees the best of luck at Epic Games, and salute Epic for taking them in. Maybe Epic will buy the IP? Only time will tell, though I think Bioware could do it justas well. (Source: Game Informer) Good times and good memories. ESRB and Digital ContentThe ESRB is now going to get involved in digital games. The rating can be slapped onto a digitally distributed game at no extra charge. Not only does it give the traditional ratings of CE, E, E10+, T, M, and AO, but it also will have extra labels telling what sort of interaction will be added. For example, whether your location can be shared while playing the game online. Pretty handy, eh? (Source: Game Informer) The ESRB always has your back, yo. Think of the children! PS3 Software UpdateYesterday, the PS3 received a long-awaited software update. This update adds the ability for the PlayStation Vita's trophies to appear on PS3. It also has remoced the Folding@Home application. Not sure what that is? It was an application on the PS3 that allowed it to connect to Stanford University and use its computing power to analyze information for finding a cure to various diseases, namely Alzheimer's. Apparently, the scientists at Stanford have all the information they need and are now trying to draw conclusions from it. I wish them the best of luck to them in finding a cure for Alzheimer's, and hope our PlayStation 3's were put to good use! Click here to view the article

  8. I honestly hope this reverse discrimination thing is sorted out before I join the workforce. It's racism all over again.

The supreme court upheld affirmative action in Grutter v. Bollinger (2003), but the court also stated it would probably be unnecessary in 25 years. So start working in 2028.

I guess I could also learn learn Korean or Japanese and move to South Korea or Japan. They seem like pretty cool places to live, and I don't think they have affirmative action.

  9. So, who would you vote for out of these two fine men?
  10. Gotta love the trolls who purposely disagree with me, don't back up why they think that, and say I have to respect their opinion. At least I can back my opinion up with reasons.

  11. As you know, we have the presidential election coming up in a couple weeks. Here are the two main candidate choices:Representing the Liberals, we have Vermin Supreme from the Free Pony Party: Representing the Conservatives, we have Jimmy McMillan from the Rent is 2 Damn High Party:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4o-TeMHys0The question is, which of the two looks to be a more promising leader?
  12. I noticed no one started anything like this yet, so I'm going to be the one.Post your pawn's name, level, class, gender, describe or post their appearance, and add a short description of them. For example, here's mine:Name: VergilLevel: 59Class: Strider/Ranger (Ranger has better stat gains, Strider has better AI)Gender: MaleAppearance: Vergil has the look of a teenage boy with red hair that comes down to his ears on either side. He has a scar running down his cheek.Description: Vergil is a confident young man happy to set out on adventure. He tries to work with the rest of the team in strategy, and takes aim at the strongest enemy. He will try his best to be an asset to your party!

  14. Tell you what, I guess I'll write a more serious list:GreaseForrest GumpThree IdiotsMr. Holland's OpusPee-Wee's Big AdventureThe MatrixIron ManHmm...list is a bit short. Ok, I'll list my favorite books, as well:The Lightning ThiefHowl's Moving CastleBetrayal at FaladorThe Stolen ThroneThe Erevis Cale seriesBy the way, anyone else looking forward to this movie?
  15. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is more of a cult classic. Most of the public thinks it's terrible.Ted was one of those movies that was so-so with the critics, but the common man loved it.Ok, I admit Scary Movie wasn't that great. I don't know why I threw it up there.Superhero Movie was the best in the "Movie" series, in my opinion. I don't know why the critics hated this one so much.I didn't realize we were talking about the "best" movies, I thought we were talking about our favorite movies. As for Oranges and Killer Klowns, just look at these trailers. Try to tell me they don't look like they're worth watching.http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_ReqrSdrBMhttp-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHXy8DpF5k0Tell you what, here's a few more serious ones:GreaseTommyThree Idiots (This is a drama, believe it or not)Slumdog MillionareForrest Gump (How could I forget this gem?)
  16. That's what I was thinking. I was a bit confused when you said I-III, and I was thinking, "He can't be talking about the prequel trilogy, can he?" Which ones? I thought Oranges: Revenge of the Eggplant and Killer Klowns from Outer Space were so bad that they were hilarious. Superhero Movie made some great Stephen Hawking jokes. However, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure really is my favorite movie of all time. *Shields face*At least I didn't put this movie on my list:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1kVrIkDW6Q
  17. By Star Wars I-III, do you mean the original or prequel trilogy?Anyway, I thought:Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (I'm serious; I found it hilarious)Ted (Literally a laugh a minute)Curse of the Black Pearl (Was a pretty epic movie)The Matrix (Favorite action movie)Iron ManRaiders of the Lost ArkIndiana Jones and the Temple of DoomIndiana Jones and the Last CrusadeScary MovieSuperhero MovieOranges: Revenge of the EggplantKiller Klowns from Outer Space
  18. It's a decent enough song. I like the chorus. It doesn't deserve to be the most viewed video, but it's a better candidate than the CURRENT most viewed video, so I'm rooting for it.
  19. Sorry buddy, but the poll ended about a week ago. I already won. I appreciate your support, though.
  20. No, no, I was referencing the word brown in the poem. The puffy and fresh usually wear brown. They are in Lumbridge. The man to the north sells onions. As I said, Labush has it right. I was just reinforcing his point by explaining the word brown. The word is onions.
  21. Sorry, was expecting a new post....I was going to say "sticks," since the shortest and weakest (AKA thinest) are usually the sharpest. Of course, then I read puffy and fresh, so I ruled that out. I think Labush has the right idea, though. I'll add onto it. Among the newbs, the smart ones know to find themselves some armor, so they make themselves some bronze, which is brown.
  22. No, Dawnguard is $20 and Hearthfire is $5, I think.
  23. I prefer dark for this site. I feel it fits our overall theme better. Changing to a light color scheme would just feel wrong at this point. I guess you could make it an option, though.
  24. So, can you show us what it looks like when you put it in a mirror? I've been waiting for days.
