It's just a trick people utilize to boost those skills in a circle while creating items. Things slowly stack so that you get very high enchantment effects after awhile. Blake wrote a guide on hit here. Honestly, the loop probably isn't necessary. Normal fortify carry weight enchantments are probably fine. I usually make an outfit out of items that have the fortify carry weight enchantment and then just wear that whenever needed. If you have 100 enchanting (which every build should have), the effects of even one custom enchanted item will be pretty high.

Alright, since this isn't related to the water freezing issue I've split it into a new thread. If this started immediately after the Dragonborn DLC was added, then that's definitely the likely issue you want to address first. Honestly, this is the first I've heard of issues like this. If you have saves prior to installing Dragonborn that aren't affected, you should try those - but don't save over them! Load them and then save your progress as a new file to protect what you know isn't broken. If all saves start to act like this after using the new DLC, the only thing I can suggest is to completely remove the DLC files and then try installing them again.

Alchemy recipes don't actually need to be used or obtained in order to make the potions. They're just supposed to be a secondary means for the player to learn outcomes of ingredients. You can make any type of potion you want from there very beginning if you already have the correct ingredients and know their effects or the combination required for the potion you're trying to make. Honestly, there's no reason to use recipes at all. Randomly using the ingredients together will allow your character to learn the effects of each ingredient (which is all you need to know to understand the final potion result). I'm not really positive what you mean by "white items."

You said the water glitch happened before all of these other issues, so is the following accurate? [*]You realize you have the water glitch. [*]Your main character was corrupted (should be irrelevant to the other issues). [*]You start DLC content and realize there are a lot of new issues (disappearing environment, etc). [*]You try this fix for water freezing. Is that correct? Did this thread's fix solve the water freezing issue and just not the others, or none of them? All of the Dragonborn environment issues could be an existing issue with the current version of the DLC, in which case the steps in this thread wouldn't really help.

Here are some options that tend to fix follower issues. In your case, I'd suspect the 2nd one, but you never know. [*]Fast travel somewhere and see if she appears again. [*]Wait 3 days, see if she has returned home to Whiterun. [*]Check Whiterun's Hall of the Dead to see of she's deceased. [*]Reload a previous save from before she was lost. This is a fairly common issue. If your game was corrupt you're probably out of luck. The problems you're experiencing sound like a corrupted file, not something that's a side effect of any of the patches or this fix.
