  1. In a recent interview with German gaming website GameStar, Matt Firor provided new details on the payment model of Zenimax's upcoming MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online. The news confirmed that ESO will utilize a traditional monthly subscription fee, ending conjecture that the game will carry free-to-play or other payment models. When asked if this older model could compete with recent free-to-play games that employ oft-despised "payment gateway" and "pay-to-win" systems, Firor responded that this was not in the spirit of the Elder Scrolls series. Firor went on to explain specific details concerning the cost of the subscription system. Unlimited play for the first 30 days with the purchase of the game. Following the first month you'll pay a flat fee for continued, unlimited access to the game. Basic monthly charge will be $14.99/€12.99/£8.99. Expect discounts if you buy multiple months at a time. Of course, there are also some additional interesting takeaways. New content available every four to six weeks. Graphics, engine, content, etc., are all the same between the PC and console versions. There will be an open beta exclusive to the PS4 for a limited time. Time frame for console betas will be discussed early next year; this probably pushes back our previous estimated release dates. A special thanks to community member irons for bringing this interview to our attention.
  2. You caught me. Now what am I going to do with the one million steam keys I have?
  3. Check out the new Humble Bundle deal thread - the best deal I've seen. Ever.

  4. Donate $1 to one of the charities listed on the bundle page and receive activation codes for... Dead Space (Steam, Origin) Burnout Paradise Ultimate (Steam, Origin) Crysis 2 Maximum Edition (Steam, Origin) Mirror's Edge (Steam, Origin) Dead Space 3 (Origin) Medal of Honor (Steam, Origin) With additional bonus games yet to be announced (you receive these even if you've already purchased). If you donate more than the average (currently $4.79), you also get... Battlefield 3 (Origin) The Sims 3 + Starter Pack (Origin) So you can get everything for $4.80. Honestly this is probably the best deal I've ever seen. BUT WAIT, there's a problem - you hate EA and refuse to give them any money. Well, EA is actually giving these games away for nothing; all proceeds go to the charities and/or/possibly Humble Bundle. EA's angle is that more people will use Origin.

  6. Nearing 100 Facebook likes...

  7. Day 14 of no new ESO content: I've lost an additional 8 lbs since my last entry and my insides are beginning to shrivel up. I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the next ZeniMax release. If any one finds this journal... Tell my story.

Wow. I remember when I first read this. How far you've come.

  8. The lack of any regular (or even occasional) official videos, game-play, or other information is obviously really frustrating. The question I'm asking is... Why? WHY ZENIMAX? Why. Following the ESO announcement ages ago the hype machine was really going strong. It's been slowly running on fumes ever since, and I can't believe that a company is willfully doing this while also being so against any sort of leaked content - even when said content is received well - that seconds of footage uploaded to YouTube is taken down in... Well, seconds. It's slightly worrying to me that they've taken this beta video ordeal so seriously. I understand the whole concept of people viewing an unfinished product possibly hurting sales... But this complete lock-down on everything isn't? People might not even care about ESO by mid-2014. The only thing Zenimax releases to hold people over are those 20 second NPC-creature videos every 2+ months or so, and they're terrible. It just seems like the developer is really insecure about the product they have on the table at this point, and that slightly concerns me.
  9. Spring 2014. Everyone. No PC requirements have been released but it's supposed to be able to work on older PC's (of course no one really knows what that means). http://eldersouls.com/elder-scrolls-online/faq

    vampire

You're a stage 4 vampire. To stop everyone from attacking, you either have to feed on an NPC to revert back to stage 1 (this is a temporary fix as you have to feed regularly as a Vampire) or cure yourself of the disease. The following guide has all the necessary information - http://eldersouls.com/_/skyrim/guides/how-to-curebecome-a-vampire-in-skyrim-r15
  11. You could try looking through these older threads for more information. http://eldersouls.com/topic/2864-stuck-level-55 http://eldersouls.com/topic/1857-stuck-on-level-44 Sadly you might not find many suggestions other than using previous saves. It's VERY important in Skyrim to save often over multiple different files. If you have it for PC, you can easily fix it with console commands.
  12. You just find them on PSN and redownload them.
  13. You will just have to reinstall them again. However, your other saves won't be able to be accessed until everything is updated and installed again.
  14. Holy fuck. Too bad I don't want any of those games.
  15. It should respawn every 30 days. Did you leave the mine? If you don't leave and then re-enter after waiting it probably won't respawn.
  16. Had never even heard of the Last of Us. Then again I haven't bought a PS3 game, or paid any attention to consoles, in probably a year.
  17. It's probably a bit early to work on it now since we don't know some necessary details, but this is definitely something that I'd love to have around. Were you planning on something akin to the Skyrim perk calculator?

  20. Annnd with that news, here comes the gaming mouse with programmable controls. Your new build sounds very enticing. I hope to make some videos early, so that survivability certainly sounds great. Hopefully I'll manage to watch the newer videos later so I can see what morphing entails, it looks interesting but has caught me a bit off-guard.
  21. Thanks for posting this summary! I didn't get to watch it myself. Annnd this is why. Though I will give them props for limiting it to 5 minutes; most of their official stuff is always fluff minus one or two decent sound bytes. That is hilarious but doesn't surprise me at all.
  22. Agreed. After the last couple I knew to just mute the sound and click through the scene selection until I found interesting footage. I mean, they spent like 3-4 minutes with "Mathor" doing nothing but slowly panning on the dialogue box.
