Argonians - Insanely Overpowered
Brodo Swaggins replied to Brodo Swaggins's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
I will take your pre-emptive surrender into consideration. I will offer all inferior builds a lifetime of hard labor for the glory of the argonian master race, as opposed to a slow and painful death death by swim. I am a merciful god Emperor. The real question is this - can slaughterfish out-swim argonians? I am eagerly awaiting this video, comrade. -

Okay, guys, close your eyes and imagine this for a second. It will be hard to read the elder scroll I'm about to reveal with your eyes closed, yes, but it's not all bad. At least it will prevent your brain from melting after you realize you're looking at the future emperor of Tamriel until this is patched. Haven't you ever seen Indiana Jones? Anyways... First things first. I'll cut right to the OP aspect of this build. Let me learn you on a little thing called Hemidactylus frenatus, better known to TES lore enthusiasts as the master race of Tamriel - yes, the Argonian. Detailed biological schema of Hemidactylus frenatus by a police sketch artist. Now that I have your ears (and hopefully not your eyes), I'll learn you about what's going to make Hemidactylus frenatus the most efficient killing machine Tamriel has ever seen since I massacred Whiterun in Skyrim 2 hours ago. Ladies and gentleman.... I give you... The most blatantly over-powered buff any MMO has ever seen. +50% swim speed +50% swim speed +50% swim speed +50% swim speed +50% swim speed I don't even need to plan out any additional skills this is so OP. I mean think about it. See that puddle on the battlefield, nords? May as well go home because +50% fucking swim speed. Oh, what's that? Your level 50 night blade khajiit can one-hit KO me with a backstab? Try again, because... +50%. Fucking. Swim. Speed. Fuck, I'm almost sorry because this just isn't fair.

The horn of Jurgen windcaller, help?!
Brodo Swaggins replied to a question in Skyrim Questions and Help
If guards specifically are attacking you, you have committed crimes and thus have a bounty on your head. Go to jail or pay it off. If it's a random assortment of NPCs you've probably contracted vampirism (you can check under active effects). You'll have to complete a quest to cure yourself. -

As we begin the final beta weekend for The Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax Online Studios’ president, Matt Firor, has shared an update about the game’s launch and what’s planned down the road for the game. Here’s Matt… In just a few short weeks, we’ll be launching The Elder Scrolls Online for PC and Mac. While it’s been quite a journey to get to this point, ESO’s launch on April 4 is really just the beginning. I want to take a moment to let everyone know what we’ve been doing since my last update and talk about what we’re planning in preparation for launch and beyond. If you’re reading this, you’re probably one of the 5 million people that have registered for the ESO beta, and likely participated in one of our large beta tests. That’s a wonderfully large number of people who have become part of our ESO community, and it continues to grow.  The worldwide interest in ESO has led us to conduct a series of massive “scale†or “stress†betas to prepare for the numbers of players we will have at launch. These tests help us to simulate launch conditions and uncover bugs and other issues. In addition to these scale tests, we’ve had large numbers of players in long-term gameplay testing. Our long-term testing has allowed us to delve more deeply  into things like balance, progression, quests, PvP, and high-level 50+, and 50++ content. While we know uncovering bugs can be a frustrating experience for you, every issue that is found and fixed pre-launch helps make the final gameplay experience that much more polished and smoother for everyone. Thank you to all who have participated in these beta tests—your help has been invaluable. Our final PC/Mac scale test will take place this weekend and we hope you’ll join us again. Some of the things we’ve discovered with your help excite and inspire us – like seeing that 98% of characters created have a unique appearance, or seeing the first Emperor crowned in our epic PvP system – while other findings challenge us to make the game better. Some of the fixes have been more ‘behind the scenes,’ and may go unnoticed like performance optimizations or adjustments to the technical underpinnings of the game. Others will be much more apparent. While surveys have shown that players really enjoy the game as they progress, particularly after level 10, we heard from some of you that the beginning of the game left you feeling too constrained. The game was originally designed that way so that new players were not overwhelmed, and could learn the game before dealing with more challenging situations. But because ESO is about choice, we made adjustments to those opening hours of the game in response to the beta feedback. After exiting the modified, more streamlined tutorial in Coldharbour, new characters now wake up in the first major city of their respective Alliance as opposed to being forced to go through the starter islands. We’re adjusting the level curve around those cities so that you’ll have plenty to do and discover without running into enemies that are too powerful at the start. If you want to go back and experience these islands (which have been re-leveled to provide a regular content experience) the option is there, but players who prefer can just start exploring the rest of Tamriel. Another piece of your feedback we’ve implemented addresses our combat system. We continue to identify ways to make melee combat feel even more substantial. In addition to many tweaks and changes to animations and audio, we’ve added player collision with NPCs, which means your character will no longer be able to run through NPC enemies. This is a frequently requested feature that we think succeeds in making melee combat more visceral and exciting. In addition to gameplay changes, your time in testing also helps us to address and plan for less obvious improvements as well. The worldwide interest in ESO is gratifying but staggering, and each test we run allows us to prepare for a large number of players during our launch phase, and allocate resources as needed. We have constructed large datacenters in North America and in Europe to support this game. North America is fully operational and our European datacenter will be soon, but we have found during our beta tests that the location of these servers is not going to affect the gameplay experience. Our testing has now confirmed that millions of players from Europe (and beyond) can play on our North American server and experience ESO as it was designed—without latency or lag problems. (Please note that users in our last scale test had lag issues, especially in Cyrodiil, but this was a game bug, not a location issue – all players, no matter where, experienced that particular problem). So, regardless of a player’s location or the datacenter being used, the confirmed efficiency of our platform architecture will prevent anyone from enjoying a gameplay advantage. And as both datacenters become fully operational, we will continue to add capacity to meet the demands of gamers worldwide. We are doing everything that we can to ensure that every player in North America, Europe, Oceania and many places beyond, will have a polished low-latency launch experience. Based on the existing number of our beta signups and because we anticipate that the ESO community will continue to grow after launch, we plan to add capacity to keep up with demand in both our North American and European datacenters. The North American and European megaservers will first be hosted in North America. This gives us a more efficient way to address any platform issues that may arise at launch. After the initial launch phase is over, we will move the European megaserver to the European datacenter – but this will be a seamless migration for users, without additional downloads, logins or action required. And just to be fully prepared, we are adding overflow servers in the event we get even more players on day one than we are now forecasting. If player demand overwhelms our planned capacity and a queue has to be formed, we will offer waiting players the option to begin playing right away on an overflow server. The overflow server is meant to be a temporary place where you can begin your adventure as you normally would – gain experience, items, achievements, etc.  The character you create and everything gained as you temporarily play on an overflow server will transfer back with you when you log in the next time on the main megaserver. While you’ll still be able to group on the overflow servers, other social features like PvP or access to your friends list and guild will be unavailable during that play session – but we want to offer this option to allow players to get into the game quickly, create a character and start to enjoy ESO without delay. This way, you can log in and play, and when the queue shrinks, you can switch to the megaserver and continue to play with the character you created. These are just some examples of the changes we’ve made as you join our final beta test this weekend.  If some of your feedback hasn’t been addressed, it doesn’t mean it was ignored or we felt it unimportant. We are continuing to implement changes and will make adjustments that improve the overall player experience as long as the feedback is coming. That means through launch and beyond. In addition to continuous pre-launch adjustments, we have been developing lots of additional content for the game. Soon we’ll reveal our first post launch content update, the adventure zone, ‘Craglorn’ which is dedicated to group-based, end-game PvE repeatable content.  It’s the start of our commitment to meaningful updates which will be coming shortly after launch and regularly. We hope that an engaging player experience, compelling content updates, outstanding customer service, and ongoing adjustments in response to player feedback keep you coming back to Tamriel. And as many of you have asked, the answer is yes to one additional benefit – we will offer various subscription discount packs beginning on April 4. Everyone here at ZeniMax Online Studios is very happy and excited to launch ESO and hope you are pleased by the experience we have worked hard to deliver. My sincere thanks for your continued support, your helpful feedback, and your wonderful enthusiasm. See you online! – Matt View Original Article

The ESO team answers your questions and delves deeper into the art of crafting. Here’s some of what you can expect from this week’s article, “Ask Us Anything: Crafting“. How will crafted gear compare to dungeon loot and PvP rewards? I hope the crafting system won’t be there just to do something when you’re bored, but that it will contribute to the economic health of the game. Crafted gear of the same level and same quality as gear found in the world is almost always better. For instance, if you find a level 22 sword of fine quality, but your friend crafts a level 22 sword of fine quality, the damage done by the crafted sword is going to be slightly better. However, some of the gear you find in the world will have unique enchantments or set bonuses crafters cannot replicate. Still, a crafter might be able to take that dropped item and make it even better while retaining the unique enchantment. View Original Article

You can port back to starter islands if you want.Mob difficulty increase slightly starting at level 5. Buffs and nerfs to class abilitiesFixed an issue where many abilities were not properly obeying line of sight rules.

Obviously it doesn't say this upcoming weekend specifically, but I would lean that way given that they're usually announced on Tuesday (source: Crazier).

It takes more than excellent Smithing skills to craft a statue that perfectly encaptures a Daedric Prince. Take an inside look at the making of the Molag Bal statue that comes along with the Imperial Edition of The Elder Scrolls Online. Here’s an excerpt on what it takes to design a Daedric Prince: Designing the God of Schemes as he appears in ESO was the first step. Our concept artists explored various ideas and silhouettes through a series of quick thumbnail sketches. We used references from previous Elder Scrolls games, including the appearance of the Mace of Molag Bal from Skyrim, to guide creation. We chose to make him huge, bestial, and sinister—a look fitting for the Daedric Prince of enslavement and domination. Wretched Abyss Glitch.
Brodo Swaggins replied to KnightInWhite's question in Skyrim Questions and Help
It might be an issue with Dragonborn, it might not. If you have Dragonborn installed the Wretched Abyss should be a mass of floating tentacles instead of the blue/purple orb. I've read about a few people with the same bug (i.e. WA won't talk) but I don't know of any answers or fixes. Loading a previous save probably won't do anything. Installing (or reinstalling) Dragonborn might fix it, and is probably your best shot. Let us know if installing Dragonborn works. -
Do you support or oppose the Imperial Edition?
Brodo Swaggins replied to David's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
I'll openly admit that there's a decent chance I'll end up buying the Imperial Edition. Does that make me a hypocrite? Maybe, but I habitually hold a deep desire to own all of the DLC in games so that I have the opportunity to get the entire experience. That's also the reason I supported the high subscription fee; we were told that we would be getting the stated "100%" of content. If ZOS were just peddling physical / vanity items with their CE I wouldn't care. I care when 1/10th of a subscription game with a box-price and a cash-shop is pay-gated. -

Brodo Swaggins replied to David's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
Hm. I raise you this (which answers nothing and contradicts itself, but that's the point). I've seen contradictory CSR statements... I don't think they really know, honestly. They're not devs or anything so it's doubtful they'd even know what the plans are. Here's another discussion in which they say you MUST buy / upgrade to the Imperial Edition. Either way, it's still BS. Imagine you pay $20 for what turns out to be an in-game unlock. All the current complaints stand, and potentially more from those that support the CE as-is. -
Do you support or oppose the Imperial Edition?
Brodo Swaggins replied to David's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
I have seen numerous screenshots saying the opposite (or maybe the same with a different meaning). What was the exact wording? It's known that you can unlock the Imperial race... If you pay to upgrade in their cash shop. I won't bother going into how that doesn't actually solve the problem for obvious reasons. It's not about whether or not it's breaking the game. It's about getting taken for a ride by bullshit-merchants. By the way, I'm tempted to up-vote you just for your beautiful, flowing, Orc-mane avatar. -

Brodo Swaggins checking in to fight the good fight. Ring XP: It's fine if it's not a big deal to you, but as others have said there are plenty of people this will effect who will care. Horse: It's not really cosmetic because, as Muscle said, you're getting two things. [*]Free gold for whatever a mount costs, which is likely one of the most expensive things in the game. [*]A large decrease in the travel / exploration time due having a horse at launch. Imperial Race: This is the only thing most people, including me, are upset about. It doesn't matter if they're stronger than other races or not. They are pay-gating 1/10th of your options in the game here. This is the equivalent of major DLC. Beyond that main point, they WILL be better than other races depending on what your character build is because they have their own unique racial bonuses. Any Race / Any Alliance: I don't think most people are that upset about this. From what I've seen, people just complain because ZOS was so adamantly against this in the beginning. They're abandoning key tenets at the last second and for little to no reason. Pet: Agree, no one cares. CE should have just been physical items and vanity things. That would have been inline with expectations, previous ZOS statements, and other games. Pay-to-win isn't all or nothing. I'm not upset about the rings because they give a huge advantage, I'm upset that they're including things like it at all. There's a clear pay-gate on the Imperial Race that completely eliminates progression if that's what you want to play. They're charging for exclusive content - why does that not apply? Just because other games have had experience bonuses doesn't make it okay, especially given previous dev statements. Just curious, though, what games that have the same payment model have such substantial CE's? They're almost always shit vanity items in my experience, not an entire race in a race-based game. I personally agree with your experience race stance, but I understand people do play that way so I don't support the rings. You're right on the most devs in the industry lying... And do you know what? I'm pissed every single time. Frankly, I'm appalled that most people seem to embrace and accept it - it's exactly the reason they continuously do it! It's bullshit and everyone knows it. This particular instance is even more bullshit than usual, though, because the whole point of the subscription system was to eliminate this. They're not breaking a small comment, it was supposed to be the core tenet of their model. -
