Does it matter if I wear heavy armour when I mage? or any armour?

Im not an expert, I don't mage, but I guess with the right enchantments it could work :)

I get notified every time you start up Skyrim.

 

Unlike Oblivion, you don't suffer any sort of penalty for wearing heavy armor when maging. One of my best characters was a Breton Heavy Armored Mage. Shit was cash.

Heavy armor is better at first, but in the long run, light armor is superior. The armor cap is about 580, or 80% physical damage resistance, and the best light armor can easily reach that, without the extra weight and noise.
