Fergal
What does everyone use? I use Photoshop, but I have used GIMP before, seems pretty good. The one thing is that Photoshop costs a load of money to buy (besides the trial version, but eh). But it can of course be pirated so it's free in that sense.
David
I have both but I'm only knowledgeable with Gimp, so that's primarily what I use even though it's worse than photoshop.
Brad
well I used to have pirated Photoshop, but adobe keep it well locked down and regularly check for faulty copies so I got shut out, and finding a good torrent is proving difficult
Huygens
I use paint.
Judobreaker
But it can of course be pirated so it's free in that sense. It's also illegal in that sense. :)I have a legal copy of Photoshop CS5 Extended (actually I have a legal copy of the entire Adobe Web Suite ).GIMP is a rather strong tool too although I don't have loads of experience with it, I've always used PS.The biggest problem with GIMP however is it's interface which makes it less obvious to use...Photoshop has the tendency to have loads of options though so I guess it's easier to get lost in them. Fergal
It's also illegal in that sense. Pfft, a lot of people do it. xDOh and btw, I have CS3 Extended - is CS5 much better?
Judobreaker
Yes it is if you know how to use some of the advanced features. For you, probably not so much.I don't expect you're into advanced photo manipulation, professional graphic design or movie/game concept arts. ^^It has a few nice features for low-end users though, the fact that it displays perfectly at every zoom percentage is nice for example.Older Photoshop versions display weird at zooms other than the usual 50%, 25%, etc.
Coffee4Godot
Personally, I find Photoshop easier to use than Gimp, but then again I haven't put much effort in learning Gimp. =p
Jessica
I have CS5 and never use it. I don't use any of my adobe products even though they're all like $400.
