Someone with better math skills than me. help please
Yaije replied to Vodac's topic in Theorycrafting
It looks like you're trying to add multiple different effects that do different things together. Some of those effects say stuff like "melee attacks get x% more power" or "+y% damage for attacks" or bonus weapon damage.... Those may be very different effects as far as the game is concerned. Never mind that I believe that Reverse slash and all it's effects don't really start to ramp up and benefit from any portion of that +1~300% bonus damage until the target starts dropping below half hp, and it's the only thing benefiting from the 18% executioner bonus (well it and critical charge, and crit charge can't benefit from ambush damage bonus and it's own damage bonus at the same time....) edit: I think you're math is way off.... edit2: Basically to really figure this out, we need to know how exactly the various effects affect your damage output. Does "attack" include activated abilities that are samina based (such as executioner and critical charge) or is it limited to the heavy/light attacks. -

LMAO... not sure if I should smile or not since I suggested something similar to someone before. A nightblade in heavy armor with a 2h doing much teh same, but tossed in mark target so I could get some awesome selfhealing when I dished out dirt naps. Think this pick targets at range, laying into them with ranged (mostly for sitting on a wall or a hillside away) but jumping into the fray to a marked target with immovable brute and momentum up .. Never bothered to find out how much damage bonus it was getting with the build since I couldn't figure out how everything stacked together. Could be something like 13+(10+20/2)+7+7 for weapon damage getting between 37-47% weapon damage from the the ult, momentum, brute and heavy armor passive.... but could very well stack in a different way. Didn't know, and lacked the means to really find out so I stopped caring and started asking if it was possible to overcharge weapon damage (if any build could... it's this one..) note: that 47% is probably not what the bonus damage is. I don't think it's simply additive stacking, but I can't prove it is or isn't... also that one isn't taking power extraction into account. -
Beta Players - Most Underrated Aspect of ESO?
Yaije replied to David's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
This so much. I just had a rather odd chat where someone assumed 'battlemage' meant sorc. Someone said they were going to make a Fire based dunmer battlemage and got some reply like "Sorcerors don't get fire spells" or something along those lines. Especially odd when the first person linked an esohead skill calc with dragonknight as the selected class. IMO the classes are more like templates you apply to a build to get a slightly different theme, rather than decide your group role. Granted some of the classes clearly shine more in certain roles when built right (DK's geta bit better damage reduction at times for example) -
Slotting active skills from unequip'ed armor and weapons?
Yaije replied to Stush's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
This is only true for weapon abilities. Armor abilities don't have any restrictions beyond the level requirement and skill point spent on it. The morphs however provide bonuses that are affected by wearing the respective armor types. I think Anullment's Harness Magicka Morph is the only one that adds something that can be used regardless of armor worn, but it's new effect is still made better by wearing light armor. -
I would say the nightblade ability is invisibility while the hiding/crouching everyone can do is stealth. Nightblades get no innate bonus to sneaking via crouch and any other class can do that much just as effectively. to the OP: The stealthy (racial) and Improved sneak (medium armor) passives do not effect you're ability to detect hidden players. They allow you to remain undetected as you get closer to your target. Keep in mind that unless you have something like the nightblade ability Shadow Cloak (or it's morphs) you will still be seen depending on how you approach your target. As to cost, I believe it is a fixed value, and you only pay for moving. You can sit still and regenerate stamina, might be useful for moving around cyrodiil at times. edit: also... for my to consider an activated ability 'stealth' it has to last longer than 5 seconds....

I think you can safely ignore that information. Different games, different rules.

What race are you the least likely to ever play as?
Yaije replied to David's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
Run away? you mean bum rush the bastards! gotta run in on foot so you don't waste time dismounting before you can swing! Imperial for me. I don't see any reason to roll them. I might roll a breton and name them like an Imp... great improvement! -
I don't think there are any magicka based abilities that don't derive their damage from spell power/magicka. CC duration seems to only be affected by passives and ability level. If you're looking for magicka fueled damage tricks, you'll have to think outside the box and find soemthing that alters your combat proficiency, like Haste in teh Nightblade Assassination skill or that power drain from siphoning that adds a percent boost in damage based on enemies hit. Esohead's calc only really shows the lvl 1 effects I think and appears to be missing a few letters/characters at times. In that draogn knight skill I think it's a scaling buff that changes based on your level (that might also be affected by spell power?)

Argonians - Insanely Overpowered
Yaije replied to Brodo Swaggins's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
You know.... maybe argonians can out swim slaughterfish. -
if you're looking to use dual daggers, yeah. Basically before, carnage was just THAT awesome a looking bonus to make any crit happy physical damage build consider Khajiit. Bosmer bow or khajiit bow? Bosmer had bonus weapon damage... khajiit got a % boost in physical damage (like snipe sneak attack since that sneak attack was a crit?)
-
In that case, better make sure it's known that Teleport strike can morph into Ambush which increases the damage of the next attack against the target by 30-36%
-
I've not seen any real mention of how much damage crits do except in relation to sneak attack. Sneak attack as far as I'm aware was only mentioned as being 100% chance to crit with a stun tacked on.Sneak attack seems to only care if it's melee or ranged rather than magical or physical (positioning also taken into account)
-
After using Teleport strike to jump gaps/ledges I'd imagine you can pull people up/over them. And since I was able to come up short at times (and fall)... I would expect the same thing possible with the chain effect.
-
Not sure that's enough to get the OP to swap from templar to nightblade.
-
The way it's worded makes it seem that it would be granting 15% bonus to the damage on crit. Not a 15% increase to the bonus multiplier on a crit. But i was never able to really look into it fully. edit: basically I assumed it would be something like: (damage * (1.5))*1.15 The way you say is: damage + (damage*(.5*.15)) If it is indeed the latter I won't be playing my khajiit and probably swap to a bosmer. edit: didn't realize I forgot a one.

Hmm... I don't think the fighter's guild actives are too OP, but that 9% bonus spell/weapon damage possibly stacking into other stuff (like Bow's Lethal Arrow and the passives it also can benefit from) would level the playing field a degree or so.

Digital Imperial edition. The imperial edition almost entirely to get the steed.

at least poison damage isn't as common as fire damage. What I'd like to know is if the fighter's guild passives will work against player character werewolves (Skilled Tracker passive suggests that every undead or daedra related effect will then work on werewolves)

Does Adrenaline Rush work with bows?
Yaije replied to Nelgyntc's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
Right now i'm under the impression that 'melee' buffs affect all physical damage. So, as long as it isn't magical it may work? -
Personally liking the, what was it, 15% extra damage for crits. Haven't really seen many effects like that in the various passives elsewhere in the game.

Do light/strong attacks from staff use sta. ?
Yaije replied to Vodac's topic in Elder Scrolls Online Discussion
I don't think heavy/light attacks even use up resources. just the activate abilities (which cost magicka) -
Scene everyone’s throwing up their builds. NB Tank
Yaije replied to Vodac's topic in Theorycrafting
I'd suggest linking something like a pair of eso head calcs and maybe removing the base forms if you're getting the morphs. No reason to list the first ability if you're going to replace it. -
I'm guessing snare is lowered movement, while immobilize is total removal of one's ability to move? It just means you'll have to find another way to get the bonus. also, what?! no immovable? you no like 20 8 seconds of immunity to disabling effects?
