ok so ive got to the second stage of this quest where you need to get the warped soul gem but i have an issue, i cant get the required staff, i go to the marker and there is nothing there, not an enemy not the staff, absolutely nothing. im playing on xbox 360 so i cant do the console trick to forward the quest so is there any way to fix this bug?

Make sure you've searched around the entire area for the staff. It could be in a chest, in the inventory of an enemy, or if it was separated during the fight it could be off somewhere else in the room. If it's for-sure disappeared, you may just have to reload a previous save and do that section of the quest again.
