You don't appear to have written in a question

Why do you say that? It isn't "You don't appear to have". There isn't any grey area where you look at it and think "I don't think he wrote a question, but I'm not 100% sure".You should say "You haven't written a question". Or respond with a joke.

Haha, have you noticed that before? If I see the directions still written out in the topic I generally just glance over it quickly and assume nothing is there. Kind of like that time you missed the question that was written in the middle of it.It's hard to explain, but to quote Obi-Wan, "Only a Sith deals in absolutes." Responding with such is interpreted as being confrontational or more passive aggressive.
