Ok, so I'm interested in having another character other than my nord... (perhaps an argonian or a dark elf.) And I want to know, can I have multiple characters in Skyrim? I'm afraid if I try to make another person, I'll lose my nord and all of the finished quests. So, can I and how can I make another character? <- (If that's even possible!)

You can have as many characters as you want. Just start a new game on the main screen. As long as you don't save over your first character's save file with the new game (or delete it), you will be able to have both characters. Note that they will be under different save files and "universes" (e.g. quests completed by one character will have to be completed by the new one).
