Help with quest: Revealing the unseen

I cannot find the focusing crystal in Mzulft.I first went through the ruins all the way to end and spoke to the guy at the observatory, then he told me to bring the crystal, after eventually consulting a walkthrough it said to loot from a specific falmer in the last big room before the end, but now i cant find it as i killed it a while ago and obviously missed the crystal.what can i do about this?

It is pretty difficult to find, I remember I forgot to pick it up as well. I had to back-track; just follow the quest arrow, it should lead you to it. It looks like a pretty common drop, which is why I didn't pick it up the first time.

i have tried to backtrack and all that, its nowhere.I also tried to use the add item script to add it, but the game doesnt register that it is on my inventory.i fear this quest line is buggered for me...

Did you use these console commands?

[*]The Falmer will not always have the Focusing Crystal, rendering the quest impossible to complete. Workaround is by using the console commands:

player.additem <itemid> 1

setstage MG06 35

[*]To get <itemid> type:

help crystal 4

and look through the results for "Focusing Crystal" to get the right ID.

I'm assuming you're just not able to find the Falmer corpse, correct? Or is the issue that the crystal simply isn't on the corpse?

The crystal is on the "boss" Falmer corpse. I'm not in a position to look up the ranks of Falmer, but its name should be different than the rest.

the corpse is no longer there, thats my issue.i have tried the player.additem <itemid> 1 - and it did not register that i had the crystal.but i never did - setstage MG06 35, will try with this command now
