  1. I've read about people having similar issues before but don't have a good solution. It's rare enough that not many people have reproduced it and those that have don't post follow-ups on what they did to fix it (if anything). If you're trying to do a fortify loop/glitch, there is a specific sequence you have to repeat to get it to work. Otherwise here are some sequential troubleshooting thoughts:

    1. You've probably already tried this, but take all of the gear off and put it back on again before making more potions.
    2. Remake the gear, as you planned, on your current save. If that fails...
    3. See if alchemy works as expected on a substantially older save.
    4. If all else fails, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Let us know if you find anything that helps!

  2. The magnitude of the enchantment doesn't matter when you disenchant - the effect is the only thing you get regardless. When you go to enchant something, the strength is based upon several things, such as...

    • Enchanting level
    • Enchanter Perk
    • Soul Gem
    • Potions

For example, when enchanting apparel, the maximum multiplier with 100 Enchanting, 5 points in Enchanter, the +25% perk, and a Grand soul gem is 3.125x. With potions, it is 4.21875x.

tl;dr you have nothing to worry about.

  3. Gotta agree with Illini, makes me sick just thinking about you guys...

In all seriousness though, I don't mind being the guy to admit this but I would really like to speak to some of you guys again, even just briefly, catch up and stuff. Probably didn't seem like much to you guys but being part of this group was really important for me growing up, I was a weird kid and really not very mature but you guys helped me fix that. Going back now and reading my old posts makes me cringe to no end, its awful. So yeah, sorry about those.

A couple of years back I went through some of the posts I made on the first forum I joined. I'm not positive how old I was, probably 10-12... But yeah, I had to stop reading it after a few minutes because I was cringing so bad. I'm sure I thought I was some sort of clever genius at the time. It's funny how things change.

No worries, Delly, we were all there at some point. I don't think you were ever a bad poster anyway; I always got a kick out of them.

  4. Suldafn Temple is only accessible once - during the quest The World-Eater's Eyrie. After you enter the portal to Sovngarde, it is impossible to return.

Do you have the PC version? If so, there's still hope. You can return to Suldafn using console commands, or even spawn the desired items in your inventory directly.

  5. That's a pretty buggy quest, but I've never heard of this particular issue.

First of all, you should verify the integrity of your game cache in Steam.

    1. Right click Skyrim in your Steam library and click Properties near the bottom.
    2. Go to the Local Files tab and click Verify Integrity of Game Cache...

It should tell you if any files were damaged/missing. If all is well with the files and the issue persists, try the following command before leaving on the elevator (note: my memory is foggy, this assumes you're at the stage BEFORE you give the lexicon to Septimus).

    setstage DA04 30

Let me know if it works or not. :)

  6. Are you sure that specific command doesn't reset in the same way on your other save files? player.setav commands aren't permanent for everything - only some things - and it's normal for them to reset.

There are alternatives to .setav (.modav, .forceav), but they don't add values in the same way. They're also difficult to reset, so I'd advise against using them unless you really understand what they do and what the default values are for whatever you change.

  7. Okay, I think you may have encountered a bug. Here are two things to try...

    • Commit a crime in the area and then clear your bounty. This may reset NPC aggression values.
    • If the above doesn't work and/or if you have the PC version, enter the following console commands before you are attacked (won't work after they start attacking you -- you don't have to be by them to use the console).
