According to the following release on EA's official site by CEO John Riccitiello, the company has made a shocking move to acquire Bethesda Softworks, Ltd.
We're pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Zenimax, Ltd. regarding the purchase of Bethesda Softworks and their associated studios. We are excited for the opportunity to add such an outstanding company and their games to our portfolio. I'm personally looking forward to working with Todd Howard and the rest of the Bethesda staff in the future.
