Dark Brotherhood bug? what do

Myself, the Night Mother, and the remnants of my dark brotherhood clan are settled comfortably in the Downstar Sanctuary, but there's one small defect...

 

Every time I return to the Night Mother for a contract, she insists that I meet with a corrupt informant or some scumbag at an inn and fulfill their wishes. I have done this 3 or 4 times and the contract is always the same; the cold hearted grave digger in Windhelm. These men either have a serious grudge or my game is bugging like mad. If anyone can set the record straight on this, it would be much obliged.

It's true that the Night Mother will repeat the same contracts here and there, some more than others, and more so if you have already done numerous contracts for the miserable old hag (Because there are only so many contracts for her to give out). If you have done a good number of contracts for her, she may have actually run out of new ones to give you, so you will probably find that she repeats herself a lot - But I haven't heard of the same contract being repeated three or four times in consecutive order like that.

 

Have you checked that quest/Night-Mother-Contracts for known bugs on Wiki? That should say if what is happening to you is excessively abnormal or not.

You're describing the radiant quests that start after completing the whole Dark Brotherhood quest line - The Dark Brotherhood Forever. These quests are just generic quests generated randomly by the game, so there's not much variety, unfortunately. It's not a bug, just a feature that's meant to provide theoretically infinite assignments.

Update: I actually got a contract that differed from the rest. And it was a bit more tricky. The target was wondering the hold, unlike the cold hearted gravedigger who can easily be assassinated. I thought they would become more difficult each time, but like you said, it is easy gold and who doesn't love gold? Thanks for the help!
