Do light/strong attacks from staff use sta. ? I thought is was all base off Magicka?

Staff weapon damage is based on Magicka, not Stamina. At least this is what our tests showed a couple betas ago.

I don't think heavy/light attacks even use up resources.  just the activate abilities (which cost magicka)

It's true they don't use the resource, but the damage is multiplied by the stat on top of the weapon damage.

Resto Staff heals did scale with weapon dmg. Dunno abt the attacks thou.

Staff basic attacks and skills scale with weapon damage and max magicka. Physical weapon basic attacks and skills scale with weapon damage and max stamina. Stamina doesn't affect weapon damage, it's a stat of it's own.

Posted March 13th. Shows that stamina, and not magicka, influences the damage from heavy and light staff attacks. Saw a response somewhere though that said Magicka and Stamina both influence staff heavy/light attacks, but that the character in that video was at a point where staffs were already getting the maximum contribution from magicka. Seems like something that has perhaps changed over time. I really wish the developers would just say how the game works, instead of having us rely on people testing things. Transparency please. It's just way more fun that way.
