Common
My son and I are looking for advice regarding a two man team for PvE/leveling. Our experience ranges from me; played "almost" every MMO since Ultima Online, to my son; this is his first MMO (he's 8)What are some classes I need to start looking at? Thanks in advance,-Ryan
Lucas
tank + healer would be easiest.
Hans
I know this wasn't the question and might be none of my business but I would not recommend ESO for a 8 year old.It might not be super graphic in violence but differently to WoW etc. it has a "realistic" graphic and well... you DO chop up people all day long, set them on fire, fight evil demons after you unleashed them on people... and so on... Common
healer/tank would be something like Dragon Knight/Templar? Healer tank combos, although super stable can take a while to kill anything. I'm looking for a more "ESO" specific answer from someone that's done some beta work. Are there classes that are strong enough off-healers to keep them selves and one other up in a pinch? Looking for more a Class/Armor/Weapon answer. Is there anyone else out there that plan on having a steady two man (running with a wife/gf)? What are you looking at doing? As far as it being too rough on an 8 year old, that is something we're taking into consideration, I just haven't seen enough of the game to make a call. Its going to be close though. shinn
everyclass can play "everythings" more or less effective. just play what u want and decide while u are lvling which "role" u wanna pick.

dreamerorc
tank + healer would be easiest. agreed: Templar is your only choice for burst healing while tank can definately be another templar, rogue or dragonknight or maybe even a sorc as long as they are specced and equipped for it
Hans
To give an on topic answer, too: What do you want from a team? The content is easy enough to solo it, except for group dungeons. So a tank/healer combo would be indestructible in a game where you wont die often anyway. Hm... I think if you want to level faster, you need more opponents if you walk around. Maybe one ranged puller and another more AoE specced char? But basically if you just want to play together it doesnt matter. Everybody can grab a Resto Staff if needed, but a dedicated healer for leveling is overkill imo. Now, if you want to play lots of dungeons, having tank+healer ready should make LFG a breeze
Eol
My boy will be nearly 8 by the time the game releases and he will be playing. Rather than try to pick an ideal duo, you really need to decide what you enjoy doing, and what your boy is capable of doing. For example, I was really looking forward to playing a stealthing duo with my son, but after watching him play Skyrim, Rift and SWTOR I realized he is much better at playing a tank/bruiser character because he has trouble moving and changing direction quickly, and he needs that extra health/armor to stay alive in pvp. We had a nice combo in SWTOR where he was a trooper tank and I was a smuggler healer, in pvp he would stand on top of the pvp control node and was so hard to kill. Anyway, my point is to get an idea of what you guys like to play, and what your son is good at or not good at, and go from there and narrow it down that way. Because basically any class duo can be made to work, especially if one can do some healing and one can take a bit of damage and do damage. irons
I would go with a Sorc as Healer/Dps and a DK tanky DPS. The Sorc can be a full healer on one bar and a full Dps with his other bar while using the same gear + he has nice CC.The DK would be a melee DPS with some tanky skills on his bar and i would say go with medium armor for more dmg later for dungeons you should switch to heavy armor but until then you are more than fine with medium armor.
Common
Irons I think you and Eol hit the nail the head, awesome answers. Having him play a bruiser w/hps and armor makes since while I stay back and blow it up and switch to resto staff to heal when needed. DK or Templar for him, Sorc for me (atm). Looking at possibly going at Nightblade as well. With the Siphoning skill line (soul shred and strife) he can get the heals he needs while I stand back w/a bow for dps (using stamina) and a resto staff (using mana) when heals are needed. Time to get to work on this. Thanks guys, good feedback.
