Elder Scrolls Online: M or T ESRB Rating?

The recent TES games are all rated M for Mature for fairly obvious reasons. I highly doubt they go that route with an MMO, though, since the <17 demographic is so important to the genre.

 

If ESO comes out with a Teen rating, what do you think they're going to have to cut? What's the impact on the "TES experience" going to be?Alternatively, if the publisher goes for an Mature rating - can the game even be a success?

Well, it probably won't be as dark and scary. Teens are scared of the dark and monsters, and thwy can't sleep after playing games like Skyrim. In fact no games should have a mature rating, not even teen. They should all be for everyone, because other games give people nightmares and they don't get all the sleep a growibg lad needs. Games are not for adults anyways.

I really hope they go with a M rating.

 

F2P games attract a lot of teens (and gold sellers).

Seeing as the game will be subscription based I think they are aiming for a more mature audience.

My bets are that it will be rated Teen. 

 

No emphasis on drugs./ alcohol.

 

No blood and Gore.

 

But plenty of dark themes and more mature topics to go around. Probably darker than most M rated games in general.

Would love M if they really used the potential, probably T for the market share and fewer store restrictions based on region...
